Angler Greg Williams and 4 work mates got away for a great fishing trip to Kuala Rompin over the first week in August. They looked past their local options including barramundi fishing Kakadu for the trip up to the regions sailfish capital, Kuala Rompin Malaysia!

Introducing Ocean Blue’s newest video, straight from Kuala Rompin, Malaysia; Blue Sails In The Sunset. Our first sailfishing video, this footage gives you an idea of the average fishing at this destination, filmed months before peak season!
After 5 days in Kuala Rompin, Ocean Blue’s Anthony Pisano returned to the office with tales of early-season sails as far as the eye could see…
Overnight, Anthony sent me this report detailing the group’s second day of sailfishing in Kuala Rompin.
Ocean Blue’s Anthony Pisano is currently in Kuala Rompin with John Ashley, Rick Huckstepp and a few select anglers to get into the action himself. I had a chat with him on Skype this morning about how their first day went.
Not too long John Ashley heard some reports of fantastic sailfishing off Malaysia’s east coast, at a place called Kuala Rompin. This was enough for him to head over and find out first hand just how good the sailfishing at this destination really is! A great trip report and fantastic photographs is in the March 2009 edition of Modern Fishing.
If you are interested in learning more about the incredible sailfish action anglers have access to at Kuala Rompin then keep an eye out for this upcoming Bluewater magazine issue # 71.
