Rompin News – 39 Sails & Plenty More!
August 12th, 2010 | By Ocean Blue

Latest news, trip report just in from Rob Chang, Ocean Blue’s Rompin guide and sailfish whisperer on last weeks action.

Angler Greg Williams, along with his group of 4 work mates all from Gove (Northern Territory) got away for a fun fishing trip to Kuala Rompin over the first week in August. They looked past their local options including barramundi fishing Kakadu for the trip up to the regions sailfish capital, Kuala Rompin Malaysia!

Greg, Jason, Derrick, Rob and Tim successfully released 39 sails, with plenty more opportunities failing to hit the score card. On top of the sailfish, they mixed up the variety with cobia, mahi mahi and nice Spanish mackeral. They also planned a mid week golf day, very civilized! The guys were suitably impressed with Rompin and already planning a return trip, similar time next year!

Join Our Upcoming Sailfish Adventure and Experience Rompin for Yourself!

Rompin’s Sailfishing is now in full swing, with their annual Royal Pahang Billfish International Challenge also occurring this last weekend (6-8 August).

This is one place where you can target the huge number of sails using any type of tackle, including surface lures, light tackle, live baits, skip baits or saltwater fly.
If you want to experience Rompin’s awesome sailfishing for yourself this year, we have spots available on our group trip September 27 – October 2, 2010.

One exciting point to note is this trip runs the weekend following the Singapore Formula 1 GP, and we’ve got a few anglers who will be combining both events into 1 great holiday. Click here for more details.
