44 year old butcher Brendan O’Sullivan found that a Ghost Koi carp, which he bought five months ago, has a human face. He first noticed the markings after sun baking in his backyard and thought he must’ve been suffering from heatstroke, hallucinating. He later double checked and found that he “could easily make out from the markings two eyes, a nose and a mouth”, and that the fish does indeed resemble a person. The value of this carp has reportedly soared to £40,000.00 (over AUD $69,000.00). However, plenty of Ghost Koi owners are claiming that it’s not uncommon for this species to show such markings, and that the fish is barely worth £15!
